Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Meditation

I have been practicing meditation in various forms and modalities for over 30 years. I took an 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program that changed my life. The MBSR Program was developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979 at the University of Massachusetts to help students destress while studying for their exams.

Through a series of guided meditation practices, and follow up with a discussion of benefits, challenges, and strategies, MBSR helped me to deepen and enrich my meditation practice, and my relationship with myself.

The benefits of an MBSR Practice include mindfulness, developing self-regulation skills to facilitate "learning, growth, healing, enhance self-care, and make positive shifts in attitudes, behaviours and relationships". (http://www.mindfulnessinstitute.ca/mbsr)

I have integrated this practice into my daily life and my meditations. I encourage you to do something for yourself - mentally, spiritually, emotionally and physically. Paying attention (mindfulness) to your body is a leap towards understanding. Truly, when you slow down, you get more done.
